Congratulations on winning the World Tournament.Isn't there a big response from around?
Matsunami -san's friend contacted me, and there was nothing special. But I was glad that the people of the company, including the chairman and the president, were very happy. After returning to Japan, a celebration party was held at the hotel, and dozens of people rushed in.It was really good in that sense because the company was exciting.
- What is your family reaction?
Congratulations LINE came from Matsunami's mother.I didn't tell me anything, but I saw articles and news.I think it has become a good filial piety.
Mr. Nishikawa had a request from a television station to appear on the program, and the business partner received a celebration comment from the business partner, and there was a great response.A major business partner asked me that the company's soldering craftsman saw the news of Matsu (Matsunami) and wanted to see the workplace.
- Please tell me the work you are in charge of now
Matsunami -san is in charge of the work of adding electronic components to the semiconductor tester substrate by hand. The semiconductor tester substrate has a different size, shape and thickness, and the design changes every day. There are various requests, and there is no one as one.How to answer your wishes leads to trust. It is a series of trial and error every day, cherishing the feeling of "do if you have to do it" and "If you can,".
Mr. Nishikawa Originally, for mobile phone manufacturers, we have been consistently conducting businesses from artwork design of printed circuit boards to manufacturing, parts procurement, implementation, assembly, and housing design.Since around 2000, we have entered semiconductor -related businesses and developed inspection boards used by semiconductor memory and IC manufacturers. Most major business partners are for major semiconductor manufacturers in Japan and overseas.
Matsu has been in charge of soldering on the semiconductor tester board since joining the company. He has been facing a lot of difficulties because he is a high demand industry, but he is working hard to say that he never says NO.
- How did you participate in the Japanese tournament?
Matsunami -san, I have a lot of squirrels on various boards every day, but I always had few opportunities to see the outside world, and I always wondered how much my own soldier was.At that time, I received an email from the Japan Unix of the IPC solder contest Japan and decided to participate. It was just a good opportunity and I thought it would be my study.
I thought that Nishikawa's pine work was very beautiful and not good.I couldn't be a frog in the well, and I thought it was important to see and experience various things, so I pushed my back as a company.
-The result was the only one among the participants, and all the issues were cleared.
Nobody was able to clear the task until Matsunami -san, and I was nervous enough to shake my hands, thinking that I had to complete it.When I looked at Nishi (Nishikawa), I was nervous than me with pale face. When I saw it, it became easier. When I cleared the task, I was happy and shouted.
- How did you spend the world tournament?
Matsunami -san returned to normal work, but I felt that the hurdle had risen, as sales were promoting to business partners, and customers were expecting higher quality.Furthermore, I became more conscious of the finish than before.
The only challenges of the Japanese tournament were soldered, but the world tournament also includes rework that remove parts and implement them.I took training for that for about four days at the IPC official training center in Tokyo.Until now, both soldering and rework have come on their own, but they were able to learn theoretically on the IPC, the industry standard, and it was a very harvest.I was able to discover a lot of things I didn't know and what I did, and the training here was greatly useful in the actual performance.
To the United States.Unexpected happening at the tournament
- What kind of schedule was the World Tournament?
Matsunami -san was held on January 29 and 30, and entered the site on the 28th.The staff of our local subsidiary, Pwb America, Inc., joined and supported everything from movement to accommodation and meals. Thanks to that, I was able to celebrate the tournament without stress.
- How was the tournament? This time, there was not only soldering but also rework
Matsunami was more calm than in Japan. It may have been good not to see other people's work because I was the first group. In advance, people in China and other countries heard that the speed was quite fast. However, this time, rework was an issue, and the speed was clearly clarified as a criterion for differentiation at the time of the tie, so I thought from the beginning that careful work and quality were important.Because it is a world tournament, it is natural to complete it, and I tried to do it carefully and carefully while thinking about each work.
- How did you feel when you looked at participants in other countries?
Mr. Matsunami: The work was certainly fast, but some aggressive places were noticeable. It is an impression that lacks the politeness of removing parts with rework. In China and Southeast Asia, there were many mass -produced factories, and I wondered if many people were working there.
- It seems that there were some trouble at the tournament
Flux did not reach the venue due to the mistakes of the Matsunami tournament organizer. So, just before the start of the tournament, this time we all decided to work on issues without flux.It was natural to use flux, and the difficulty increased at a stretch.
I was really surprised at the pine after Nishikawa's unexpected situation occurred.Normally, the QFP rework is applied with hot air, removes the QFP, cleans the pad, is temporarily fixed in several places, and applies flux to implement it.But this time there is no flux. Therefore, the pine put the solder on all the joints and removed the work while extracting the soldered flux. Then I cleaned the pad and implemented it again. The only way to do this was pine.
Other participants seemed to have struggled to forcibly remove it after applying warm air. That is not a good way to damage the pad and substrate.
Matsunami -san, I also hit the warm air at first, but I couldn't get it, so I changed it to this method.Although the speed drops, the hole is restored after removing it, and the subsequent re -implementation can be cleaned.I was teaching this way in training after the Japanese tournament, so I used it.I was surprised when I was told that there was no flux, but I think it was the result of training that I was able to move quickly in that scene.
Mr. Nishikawa: I was interested in that flexibility. The experience of daily troubles may have been useful. As our corporate culture, even when driven, there is a culture of "always thinking about measures."I think that a good synergistic effect was created by adding a pine that did not escape.
Win the first Japanese world champion in the first perfect in history
- Have you been aiming for the best in the world from the beginning?
Matsunami -san, the part that was aiming for the best in the world, the bearish part, half and half.I was enthusiastic that I could contribute to the company by working hard in such situations and becoming the best in the world, and expanding the company's name.On the other hand, there are some parts that I thought easily that it would be a study just to look at the work methods of other participants.
- What are your feelings when you win?
When Matsunami was announced, I remember that Nishi -san and the people who attended the local area were very excited.I was most happy that I could do what I could and that the people around me were pleased.
Mr. Nishikawa was really happy. He seemed to be happy that a wonderful engineer was born from the company he started and left the results.
-When do you think your strengths are?
Matsunami -san's politeness and quality, and I hate it.I don't want to say I can't do it lol.In this way, I came to work while devising each work, such as being able to do it, this one can be beautiful, and that it was better if I tried it.I made a lot of mistakes, but how do you make use of it?I have been working while thinking for 10 years. So IPC training was fun because I was able to acquire new knowledge and skills. It is a repetition of how to use this in the next work and devise it.
Also, I think it is meticulous like a parent. For example, I didn't feel like I had to clean up the desk every time I finished one work, and I knew I had no time in the world tournament, but I did it while clearing the desk as usual.
Nishikawa -san's pine usually has his ideal figure and feels like going straight towards it.
Since its inception, we have had a culture of "do something for customers, do it without giving up" and "solve the need for the request."When there is a circuit design mistake or a complaint from a customer, it often covers it in the implementation department of the site, which is the only place to show your skills.Misses and complaints are not preferable, but troubles can be a chance for employees to think and grow.I am glad that Matsu has experienced such experience, and that the corporate culture is rooted at the root.
The goal is to spread the fun with a soldered professional solder
- It's the best in the world.Do you have any goals and what you want to do in the future?
The company, including President Matsunami and Nishi, always tells employees, "Be professional."Professional refers to those who can learn both technology and theory and can verbalize it.I am confident because my experience and my body remember. The theory is studying and teaching people is still ahead.Nevertheless, in the future, I will be like a lecturer or teacher as a soldering expert, and I would like to convey the fun of soldering to children and many people.
Also, now, even if there is something, it is corresponding with the power of the individual.Originally, we have to work with the people around you to standardize and improve work, but we have not done it.From now on, I would like to try to think about new jigs and change the process by involving around.
Nishikawa's company also wants to think about making the most of mine's technology and achievements. After the world tournament, I was taken to a company that specializes in rework for the United States and space industry.Although it was a limited customer, the number of projects was not large, but it was very interesting to have a high technology level and had a certain need. For example, I would like to develop such a business in Japan.
Matsunami -san It looks interesting.
- What will you do for the next tournament as a world champion?
Matsunami has heard from IPC that the next Japanese tournament will increase more. There will be many excellent people in Japan, and I am interested in competing with such people.I want to do it if I have a chance. The technology with soldiers will also change, and I think the tournament is a good opportunity to learn and experience it.
But the winner is not qualified to participate in the next tournament. So next time I have other people participate and I want to be able to support them well lol

What is a solder / rewak world championship?
World tournament sponsored by IPC.This time, 12 people who have won the qualifying rounds from 10 countries, Japan and China, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Indonesia, Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam, and remove more than 20 parts that have already been implemented. Two of the soldering processes to attach 82 new parts were performed in a total of 75 minutes and evaluated the workmanship.

Proof the height of the "site power" that supports the Japanese manufacturing industry, which is the first high quality rework than speed
In recent domestic manufacturing industries, only negative news in terms of quality is noticeable, but the fact that quality and on -site power are still at the top level in the world is a lot of Japanese companies, especially in Japan. He gave great hope and pride to the existing small and medium -sized companies.
Behind the wonderful achievement of winning the world tournament was the result of Pedable Bee's corporate philosophy, employees, and Matsunami's daily efforts, and I felt it was inevitable. There is no doubt that daily ingenuity, such as "more difficult production" and "on -site response in more difficult situations", is the source of "site power" that supports the Japanese manufacturing industry.Daily ideas and improvements are the hidden strengths of Japanese companies, and the accumulation and world standards are considered to have revealed their strengths.
This time, I think it was a limited world of soldering and rework, but many companies should have a potential strength.By all means, I would be glad if as many companies as PWB show their strengths in the world and lead to the high -density electronics industry and the world market.
As an aside, in the IPC, with the previous soldiers alone, it is difficult to make such a big difference in the world tournament, and speed is considered to be the most important.Originally, the quality was the first priority, and the speed was the second priority, so the more difficulty was higher than this time, and the rework was included.
