News [First test] What is the evaluation of the electric version of the Berlingo Citroen e-Berlango?
How would you rate the Citroën e-Berlango?
First test of the electric version of the Citroën Berlingo. Introducing the electric car! The cruising range is said to be up to 280km. I took a quiet drive in the new Citroen e-Berlango. All reports with technical data.
Equipped with a 50kWh battery, the e-Berlango has a range of 280km.
You need to be 25 to understand issues like climate and sustainability. In 1996, Citroën invented a class of high-roof station wagons, panel vans and the Pampers Bomber. And now, 25 years later, "Berlango" is at peace with itself and has added a new member to its ranks. Welcome to the new "e-Berlango"!
The battery alone can drive up to 280km
With a quick charger, the e-Berlango can reach a maximum of 100kW "full tank", reaching 80% in 30 minutes.
The new electric model, "Citroën e-Berlango" has a powerful forward propulsion of 136 horsepower, a cruising range of up to 280 km with a 50 kWh battery, and a wide space of 4.40 m in length. And for an extra charge of €1,200 (about 160,000 yen), you can extend it by 25 centimeters, giving you even more space, especially in the trunk. We think that it doesn't have to be big, it can be small, that is, M size is enough. From Rüsselsheim to Taunus, our first tour using this "e-Berlango" is to go through the city without emitting exhaust gas and head to the mountains by land. And did you know? Electric cars are fun without the punch you get when you hit the accelerator. Of course, in 'Sport' mode, the car takes off like a stagecoach once the 136 horses are in motion. The children in the backseat (three child seats can be lined up next to each other) are having a blast.
Capable of charging up to 100kW
Speaking of charging, the battery is small, so the "e-Berlango" is not suitable for long distances.
But you don't have to. In 'eco' mode with added brake energy recuperation, the car teaches us to be thrifty. The way it works is that electric cars are particularly efficient if they start out with just 82 horsepower. When you take your foot off the accelerator, the brakes are applied automatically, supplying new energy to the battery. 19 kWh was consumed just before reaching the destination. If you fill it up at home, it costs 6 euros (about 780 yen) for 100km. Speaking of charging, the battery is small, so the electric Berlingo is not suitable for long distances. It can be charged at a maximum of 100 kW, and it takes 30 minutes to reach 80% with a quick charger. At home, the 11kW wallbox charges for 5 hours while the kids are asleep.
