[September 2021, Seoul, South Korea Travel latest information] Acceptance of tourists, flights, state of the city
Seoul, the capital of South Korea, is a vibrant city where new trends such as gourmet food, Instagram spots, K-POP, and Korean dramas are born one after another. I think there are many people who say, "I want to go there first when the corona converges." There are fewer tourists, and Myeong-dong, which is a downtown area, is a little quieter. Ganbare Myeongdong! In this article, we will tell you about the latest situation in Seoul.
Tourist Acceptance Status

At the airport at the time of entry, you will be required to fill out a health questionnaire and special quarantine declaration, check your fever during quarantine, submit your address and contact information (mobile phone number) in Korea, and install a self-diagnosis app on your device. increase. After entering Japan, a PCR test is required within one day and before the release of quarantine.
Currently, there are almost no foreign tourists, so most of the visitors are locals.
The billboard in the photo was in the complex mall "Annyeong Insadong" that opened in 2019.
"Please wake up with peace of mind. We are taking all possible measures to prevent infection.
・Regular sterilization and disinfection every day
・Equipped with disinfectant spray on each floor
・Clerks frequently wash their hands.
・Wearing a mask is compulsory."

Seoul
Where the main streets of Myeongdong intersect. Myeongdong Arts Theater is visible on the left. The two men in red clothes standing in front of the whitish round building on the right are tourist guides. In Seoul, there are guides like this at major tourist spots to guide you.
The person in the foreground is a Japanese-speaking staff member. Even though the number of Japanese tourists is decreasing due to the corona crisis, they are doing their best.
Speaking of Myeong-dong, it is famous for its area of cosmetic shops. It seems that the damage is small compared to restaurants, and quite a few shops are open without change. However, the use of product testers in stores is no longer possible. Seoul girls spend a lot of energy finishing their eyes and bangs because they can't dress up their mouths with masks. Fashion is full of spirit because it's a corona disaster!
The photo was taken after 12:00 on a weekday. Since there were no foreign tourists, only businessmen came to eat lunch. With UNIQLO gone, I think Myeong-dong has been hit hardest of all in Seoul. Go for it! Myeongdong!
This photo was taken around 14:00 on Saturday. The weather was nice and I saw some foreigners here and there. Of course, some shops were closed, but the whole town felt a little brighter than last year. On weekends, there are usually a lot of stalls lined up, but there are really few. Even so, families visiting from Seoul and its suburbs were enjoying the pedestrian paradise.
Gyeongbokgung Palace around 13:00 on Saturday. I saw a few groups of Western tourists accompanied by guides, although it was certainly less than before Corona. Others are Korean families and young people. In the past, it was standard to rent hanbok and go sightseeing, but there are few foreigners, so there are almost no hanbok people. The picture is the gatekeeper of Gwanghwamun. A family in Hanbok was taking a commemorative photo with the gatekeeper.
In Ikseon-dong, there used to be many shops with customers waiting in line even before they opened on weekdays, but this time, even though it was a Saturday, there were only two shops with queues. bottom. Ikseon-dong has a unique atmosphere with hanoks lined up in unique narrow alleys, but in the past, it was so crowded that it was difficult to pass each other. This time, it felt like there was a moderate amount of people, and it was comfortable to be able to take a leisurely look around.
It's an area with a lot of store turnover, but as expected, there were a lot of vacant tenants. This time I visited a shop called “Cafe Rakuen Station”. It didn't exist in 2019, so it was opened during the corona crisis. Half of the seats are on the terrace, and there is a railroad track in the garden (outside the window in the upper right of the photo), and acrylic panels are installed inside the store (lower right in the photo). It's an Instagram spot. Perhaps because of the times, it seems that every newly opened shop is conscious of a well-ventilated space. The staff are also very kind and handsome♪ In Ikseon-dong, ideas are still shining everywhere, and it's a fun place just to look at the cute signboards and walk around.
It was 6pm on a Friday night, and although the weather was fine, there weren't as many people as I expected. The market is introduced in guidebooks, but it was originally a place where there were more locals, so it was a little surprising. Some locals were reluctant to eat at restaurants that catered to tourists, saying that the taste and quality were not good enough.
