Automagi / Smartphone-based drowsy driving detection system, support development
On December 5, Automagi announced that it has supported the development of a system that detects when a car driver is falling asleep from video using NTT DoCoMo's AI.
In order to prevent drowsy driving, this system captures images of the driver with a smartphone camera and uses AI to determine signs of drowsiness from the images.
While conventional solutions required a dedicated terminal such as a drive recorder, this system can be used simply by installing a dedicated application on the driver's smartphone.
In order to prevent falling asleep, the app is equipped with a function that periodically calls out by voice and encourages you to take a break when driving for a long time. When it detects that he is falling asleep, the smartphone emits a loud buzzer to alert the driver, and it also has a function to notify the driver's company and family by SMS.
Automagi supported the overall development of this system, including the technology to analyze eye blinks and posture from camera images by the image / video analysis AI solution "AMY Insight", and smartphone applications.
